Sean Ingham is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of California San Diego. His research focuses on democratic theory, addressing questions about popular control; domination, freedom, and majority rule; the mechanisms of democratic backsliding; and voter ignorance and electoral accountability, among other topics. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Harvard in 2012 and his B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004. Before joining the faculty at UC San Diego in 2017, he was an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Georgia.
